Our standard procedure when given insurance information prior to your appointment is to produce a limited outline of your insurance benefits. In this outline we will note plan maximums how much has already been used this year to treat your dental issues and we will outline the percentage of each procedure that is covered by your plan.
We do not submit paperwork to your insurance company for pre-authorizations unless specifically asked to do so by you. Also of note – any information that we gather or receive before your appointment regarding treatment costs is always only an estimate and can change based on the available maximum at the time of treatment.
Our team of highly skilled insurance coordinators work with many different insurance providers and medical plans. One thing that many people do not realize about their insurance plans is that they can and do change frequently throughout the year. While our insurance coordinators will do their best to make sure that their knowledge of your insurance plan is up-to-date, it’s not unheard of for coverage limits and plans to change on a whim. Sometimes it can be very difficult to accurately gauge how much will be allowed to be billed to insurance and how much of the bill will be the patient’s responsibility.
In order to avoid any confusion, we ask that you stay in contact with your insurance company and inquire as to whether changes are expected to be made and what they may include.
As a courtesy to us, we would ask that you keep us informed about changes in your insurer. All information about you and your insurance company is assumed to be current unless we are otherwise informed.
All claims at our office will be sent to your insurance provider upon verification of coverage with them, regardless of our participation with them, contingent upon the following:
